On Hospital's Hospitality

Way before delivery, even before pregnancy, I have planned to deliver at Hospital Ampang. Reason? Sebab dekat dengan my house dan juge rumah Mama. So, if anything happen, and if hubby wasn't around, my family is around.

Service at Hospital Ampang?
Some people opt for private hospital. But since I am government servant, gunalah kemudahan yang ada. Lagipun, nowadays, servis kat hospital kerajaan pun not bad. Pakar pun dah makin ramai. Nothing much to worry especially part kos yang perlu dibayar.

My experience at Hospital Ampang
  • Attended antenatal class at HA. Ok. Cume nak call operator tu macam susah je nak dapat. Line asyik busy je.
  • On my delivery day, register di emergency. Ok. Given direction on where to go next.
  • At labor room (PAC 1), nurse friendly. Takdela bengis macam yang selalu orang cakap. Doktor (lady doc) pun ok. Explanation given was clear.
  • Masa nak seluk, nurse apologize dulu "Maaf ye puan, sakit sikit."
  • Changing labor room, another nurse, pun ok. Banyak cakap sket. Super friendly. Asyik datang tanye how am I doing? Dah start sakit ke? Nak pain killer? Siap buat statement "Kuat Ili ni. Time macam ni pun boleh senyum lagi. Tak banyak bunyi pun. Diam je."
  • The same nurse keep on bagi guide dan advice. "Sabar ye Ili. Dah start sakit kan. Ni sikit je Ili. Nanti dah nak dekat, sakit die lagi kuat. Kalau Ili tak tahan, sedut gas. Everytime sakit tu datang, sedut je gas tu. Kalau dah rase nak teran sangat, bagitau ye. Kite monitor dari luar."
  • Houseman. Doctor in-charged that night. Lelaki. (Since aku admit malam, doktor on duty seorang je. Guy or lady, redha je.). Doktor ni kurang friendly pada aku. Die just bersuare bile tanye soalan to fill up information dalam PC. This doc la yang pecahkan air ketuban, sambut my baby, potong tali pusat baby and die jugak la yang jahit luke perineum + episiotomy kat bawah tu. Kalau orang tanye berape jahitan, aku tak tau. Sebab? Aku dah tanye kat doktor-not-so-friendly itu, tapi die hanye diam. Ok!
  • The third nurse. Die start masuk mase aku start nak push. Banyak bagi guide. "Jangan teran macam tu. Teran macam ni. Jangan tahan. Jangan angkat bontot. Push sampai habis. Curi nafas, pastu sambung teran balik. Kepala tu angkat. Jangan pejam mata. Sikit je lagi. Pandai. Betul dah tu push. Tahan sikit. Dah nampak rambut baby dah."
  • After everything settled, datang sorang Indian lady bagi air susu coklat. Then handed me sepersalinan baju kaler pink tu, pakaikan maternity pad (siyes tak reti nak ikat-ikat tali tu). Pastu aku duduk on wilcha, the Indian lady handed me my little precious, tolak aku ke postnatal ward.
  • Ward 4C. Nurse datang check BP. Ok. Friendly. Bagi guide masa aku nak bf my baby for the first time.
  • A male doctor datang check baby. Ok. Senyum je. Explanation jelas dan mudah difahami.
  • Ward 4A. Stayed there for 5 days. Most nurses are friendly and helpful. Ade sorang due je yang macam cengir semacam je. Overall ok.
  • Doctor on duty, doktor pelatih, doktor pakar. Mostly ok. Ade sorang ni je aku tak berape berkenan sangat. Huhu~
  • Guard. Sepanjang 5 hari tu, aku noticed 2 orang guard je. One malay lady and one Indian lady. Tapi rasenye Indian lady tu lagi ok dari Malay lady. Yang Indian lady tu, boleh tolerate lagi kalau pelawat keluar lambat, on certain reason. In my case, hari tu hubby datang 9 malam nak hantar baby oil sebab baby kembung perut. The Indian lady siap datang tanye how was baby. The next day pun die tanye lagi baby dah ok ke belum. Lagi sorang tu, senyum pun mahal.
Overall, aku rase servis kat HA, ok. Takdelah teruk pun. Staff pun mostly ok. A few je yang tak berapa nak ramah. Cume bab parking je tak berapa nak best. Tapi luckily, the night aku admit tu, dapat paking kat dalam. Sebab dah malam kot. So, takdelah nak menapak jauh.
