Jigsaw Puzzle

Few weeks earlier, got FOC Activity Kit when we purchase 2 packs of Drypers.

The Activity Kit consists of story book, colour pencil, colouring book and jigsaw puzzle.

Faheem tentunya excited nak cuba benda baru.. Tambahan pulak dia nampak gambar pelangi tu, lagi dia excited.

Yang paling Faheem suka adalah the jigsaw puzzle.
Mula-mula of course lah kena minta pertolongan dari ummi abi..Itupun kami just assist him dengan bagi tips-tips what to look for, how to match them etc..
The third time, he manage to do all by himself.
MasyaAllah Tabarakallah...Mabruk my darling..Well done..

He keeps on repeating doing the puzzle over and over again.
Siap bawak pergi rumah maktok the week yang Mak bercuti tu..

A happy boy who manage to solve his puzzle on his own..Adik pun join sama. Tapi selalunya sokmo buat abang marah..Hihihi..
Nanti abang ajar adik pulak ye, InsyaAllah..

Then masa jalan-jalan cuci mata di Viva Mall, Cheras, ada nampak wooden jigsaw puzzle. RM3.90 je per set. So ummi yang terlebih excited, bought two for the kids. Kononnya satu untuk abang dan satu untuk adik. But of different images.
Sudahnya, abang yang buat both puzzles. Adik belum acquire the skills lagi. Takpe, InsyaAllah slowly you will learn.

Wooden Puzzle. Terselit kat mana pulak lah lagi 1 piece tu..huhu..

Kalau puzzle Drypers tu boleh refer kat kotak dia as a guide. Yang wooden puzzle ni, nehi. Memang based on the kids own ability to match the puzzles.

Sama jugak untuk cabaran kali ni, ummi and abi guide sekali dua je, later he manage to solve on his own. Syukur Alhamdulillah.
I notice that he sorts those puzzle first. Katakan kalau dia tengah focus on the elephant part. Elephant warna purple. So dia akan put aside dulu those pieces yang ada warna purple. Then baru dia arrange, kaki elephant, mata elephant, hidung elephant..Clever! Alhamdulillah.

Yang ni ummi yang buat. Ni pun puzzle free jugak. Dah lama gila kot dapat benda ni masa beli koko krucnh dulu...Read dulu tu sebelum start memboikot Nestle ye..hihi..
Memang terperuk je benda ni sebab too small. Tak sesuai untuk the kids.

Puzzle is a great brain development activity.

The Benefits of Jigsaw Puzzles For Children

Jigsaw puzzles have a number of great benefits. Not only are they great fun, but they also help children develop cognitive skills in a variety of ways, including the following:
  1. Problem-solving skills: These puzzles help children develop problem-solving skills because they must figure out the correct way to put all of the pieces together. Several aspects have to be considered: the shape of the remaining pieces and the open spaces in the puzzle, the color of the piece and how it fits in with the rest, etc.
  2. Motor skills: The process of manipulating the pieces and placing them together with the rest of the puzzle helps develop motor skills.
  3. Spatial skills: Children must learn to mentally visualize the puzzle piece and where it fits in with the rest of the puzzle. Mentally rotating the piece in the mind helps bring thought into the realm of abstract thoughts, thinking about the results of the action.
  4. Self esteem: Completing gradually more difficult puzzles helps build a sense of self esteem.
