BacaBuku: My Sister's Keeper by Jodi Picoult

I haven't been reading NOVEL for quite some time..
The last time was during my degree course, if I'm not mistaken..
This applies to novel only, and read from cover to cover, I mean.
I've tried reading a couple of novel though, but it stops merely at 1st chapter. Duhhh..

On my last visit to the BBW, I decided to purchase this novel, it wasn't new in the market though. Published somewhere in 2003 and had been filmed too.
It takes me months after to actually begin my reading. Time wasn't really on my side..Haha..
I can't read like those yesteryears, a book in a day.
To be able to finish a chapter is thankful enough..
Usually I read during nursing. That's the only time I can spare.
This book, unlike other book that I've tried to read before {after being a mom}, it kept me reading, eventhough I took months to complete it.

I'm being emotional reading this though. I was angry at Sara, sorry for Anna, sympathy for Kate..All kind of mixed feelings. When I was angry at Sara for all the decision she made for Anna, I try to put myself in her shoe. True, it would be difficult for me either. The ending was really like...huh..tears running down my cheek like heavy downpour. And I love how Jodi makes the chapter as each character's individual views and thoughts of the plot. It gives me the understanding of the story from every angle. You gotta read this book to have that sense of feeling.

{Is it because it is a family-kind-of-story that makes me enjoy reading it? So motherly..haha}

About My Sister’s Keeper

Like most teenagers, Anna is beginning to question who she truly is. But unlike most teenagers, she has always been defined in terms of her sister - and so Anna makes a decision that for most would be unthinkable… a decision that will tear her family apart and have perhaps fatal consequences for the sister she loves. My Sister's Keeper examines what it means to be a good parent, a good sister, a good person. Is it morally correct to do whatever it takes to save a child's life… even if that means infringing upon the rights of another? Is it worth trying to discover who you really are, if that quest makes you like yourself less?

  1. Yes this novel is awesome! I read that last 6-7 years, and watched the film many times already. Sekarang ni dah lama sangat tak membaca, nak kena start reading routine semula la. Asah balik minda and improve our English kan? :)
